Helen E. Smith, comptroller, partner

Education: B.A. (Honours) in history, Queen's University, 1971; Masters in Library Science (MLS), University of Western Ontario, 1972.

To build a strong firm, one needs a firm foundation, and Ms. Smith is the rock upon which Green & Vespry Law Offices has gratefully relied. Prior to founding the firm, Ms. Smith developed her managerial skills running both public and private libraries. Several years of responding to exacting reference questions no doubt accounts for her equanimity in dealing with the demands of lawyers and their clients. Ms. Smith's subsequent lengthy career as a free-lance editor and writer serve the firm well in assuring that our briefs are always clean and our pleadings clear and to the point.

As comptroller, her vision of the bottom line has kept Mr. Green and Ms Vespry from trying to make a living from pro-bono cases alone.
